A movie based on the epic video game, Halo has been put on hold according to a statement by Microsoft. This leaves many fans of the Halo Universe reeling wondering if the project will ever take flight.

Microsoft did not give any reasons for the postponement, saying only that: “At this time Microsoft, Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh have mutually agreed to postpone making a feature film based on the Halo video game.”

The upcoming film is based on the video game series Halo. The film is slated to be directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson. According to movie database IMDB, the film was due to be released in 2008 but production was halted due to financing problems in October 2006.

The Halo universe currently spans three novels, two video games, and many more upcoming books and video games.

Often Oprah Winfrey will give away gifts to her studio audience for her daytime talk show titled Oprah. Today she did it a little different.

Today Oprah gave the gift of giving to her audience members in the form of a debit card for $1000 each. “How is that the gift of giving?” you might ask. Well, there is a catch with the card. The audience members that received the card cannot spend it on themselves or any relatives. They can however give the money away to someone else or to some charity. It can be split up among 1,000 different places or all to just one, but it the recipients of the $1000 gift card sponsored by Bank of America must give it away.

Oprah stated that it makes her feel really good to be able to give gifts to others, and her gift to her audience was to ensure that they could experience that feeling as well.

A TV ad for promoting a new film called Shut Up & Sing documenting the furor over their criticism of President Bush by the Dixie Chics has been rejected by NBC.

The ad spot would contain Natalie Maines, who is the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks, speaking at a concert in London in 2003 on behalf of the band that they are “ashamed” to be from the same state as President Bush.

The Weinstein Co distributing the film immediately took hold of the rejection by NBC declaring political censorship by the broadcasting company, but this accusation has been denied by NBC.

The Dixie Chicks are on tour in Canada doing what they do best, and are unavailable for comment at this time on the issue.

Calvin Broadus, aka Snoop Dogg was arrested in LA with charges of gun and drug possession. What? No way…

Snoop Dogg was at the Bob Hope airport and police discovered a gun and marijuana in his vehicle when engaging Snoop over a parking violation. Snoop was let go on a $35,000 bail.

Snoop was caught with a weapon at the airport last month as well, in which he stated that the police baton he had with him was a prop for a video he was making.

The gun and marijuana could have likely been props for a video, too?

Deceased Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain has topped the list of Forbes.com’s top-earning dead celebrities, moving Elvis Presley down a notch to second place. Cobain earned over $50 million from October 2005 to October 2006, Cobain earned $50m, where Elvis Presley only made $42 million during the same period.

Forbes.com has been publishing the top-earning dead celebrity list for the last 6 years and bases its totals on licensing deals for the deceased celebrities’ work and image in advertising. Cobain has not previously appeared on the list since all of his stake was owned by his widow Courtney Love, but Love recently sold 25% to a music publishing company.

Famous celebrity couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have confirmed speculations that they have set a wedding date to be married in Italy on November 18.Cruise who is 44 and the younger Holmes at 27 plan to be married at an unanounced location in Italy exactly 19 months to the day from first date.

Cruise had proposed to Katie Holmes at the top of the Eiffel Tower in France, and in April they welcomed daughter Suri.

Spokesperson Arnold Robinson confirms to Us Weekly magazine that the wedding is set for November 18, saying, “Those details are correct,” and continuing, “Proper security measures are being taken,” [for the ceremony to remain private]. Designer Giorgio Armani, also from Italy, will dress the couple on their big day.

This is the first marriage for Katie Holmes, who was previously only engaged to “American Pie” actor Chris Klein. Tom Cruise on the other hand has been married twice before, once to Mimi Rogers (from 1987-1990) and once to Nicole Kidman (1990-2001). Tom has two children with Kidman, Isabella and Connor.

Harrison Ford has declared himself “fit” to reprise his role as Indiana Jones in the next installment of the popular movie franchise. At the inaugural Rome Film Festival, the 64-year-old Ford said he could “bring the same physical action” despite his advancing years.

Ford last played Dr. Jones in 1989’s, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The fourth installment in the successful film franchise is expected to be released in 2008. According to film website Imdb.com, the film is provisionally titled Indiana Jones and the Ravages of Time.

Sean Connery is rumored to reprise his role as Dr. Henry Jones. Sir Sean, who was also in Rome last week, said he had received no offer from the film’s makers.

Anna Nicole Smith’s ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead has demanded a paternity test that Smith is refusing for her 6-week-old daughter. Smith’s lawyer and current boyfriend Howard K. Stern say the baby is Stern’s and Stern’s name is on the birth certificate. The order would require Anna Nicole to bring her new daughter to California for the DNA test.

All this shortly after Anna Nicole Smith’s first child, 20-year-old Daniel Smith, died in the Bahamas on Sept. 10th only three days after the birth of her daughter. Daniel Smith was buried on Thursday.

As if Anna Nicole doesn’t have enough to worry about, she is also facing a possible formal eviction from her current residence. G. Ben Thompson says he purchased the home for almost a million dollars in Myrtle Beach, SC as a favor to Smith and she would in turn purchase the mortgage at a later date. According to Thompson she has failed to do so, and she either needs to pay up or move out.

Kate Bosworth has followed in the footsteps of multiple celebrities going possibly a little too far on the thin size and raising some concerns of friends and family.

The actress from the Superman Returns movie had been having a rough few weeks with the breakup with Orlando Bloom, and a spout of allergies, which both could help contribute to a diet gone overboard, but her thinness did bring notice to some with concerns at the latest New York City Fashion Week after parties, according to inside reports. Although the 23 year old actress’s representative chose not to comment on Bosworth’s weight, Kate has spoken in the past about pressure to be thin.

“I think part of being an actress (is) that your body’s your tool,” she told Showbiz Tonight in July.

Seeing Kate Bosworth in recent photo’s just makes me want to say, “Please eat something”, but Bosworth hasn’t done a movie in a while now, and hopefully she will be back up to “fightin’ weight” by the next appearance.

TR Knight, who plays Dr. George O’Malley in the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ TV Series has announced that he is gay.

In a statement given to People magazine, Knight said: “I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I’d like to quiet any unnecessary rumours that may be out there. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I’m gay isn’t the most interesting part of me.”

In ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ series Knight’s character has a love for a female lead character Dr. Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo. It looks as if Isaiah Washington’s gay slur throwing had sparked the coming out of TR Knight.
