Lindsay Lohan’s publicist announced on Friday that the party-loving starlet has been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, telling People magazine, “She’s been attending some meetings and it’s going to be a slow process.” The 20 year old actress made the decision for the treatment on her own volition.

Lohan’s mother, Dina, acknowledged the meetings saying that “It’s a positive thing,” in an interview Friday with E! Entertainment Television’s Ryan Seacrest,

Lohan’s late-night adventures have garnered a lot of press coverage. Back in July, James Robinson, an executive at Morgan Creek Productions accused Lohan of being “discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional” as a result of her “all night heavy partying”.
