More Jackass coming your way
December 14th, 2007

jackass.jpgIf you are a fan of Johnny Knoxville and his troupe of prank-making idiots then we have good news for you today. “Jackass 2.5″ has been announced and get this, you will be able to watch it before the end of this month if you so desire. However, unlike the first two “Jackass” movies you won’t be watching the latest round of ball-busting stunts in a movie theater. Instead Paramount Pictures is doing the smart thing and releasing the movie on the internet for paid download. This is the first time that a major motion pciture release has been done like this and it’s going to be an experiment to see if Hollywood can make money off of movies online.

Here is how it will work: “Jackass 2.5″ will be free to watch starting December 19th and through until the 31st at jackassworld.com. The day after Christmas you can buy the DVD from the website or at your local video store or go rent it from Blockbuster. If you want to pay for it after the 31st you can do so at iTunes, Amazon.com and other to be announced websites.

“Jackass 2.5″ will feature stunts that didn’t make it into the second movie as well as new stuff filmed especially for this show. Considering how cheap it must be for the movie people to make one of these films we at PopTherapy believe that about 15 minutes after the show goes online Paramount will have already made a profit. If the movie studio does make money we can expect to see more of these kind of releases happen — which we suppose is a good thing if Knoxville, Steve-O and the rest of the boys want to keep busting their nuts well into their old age.
