Lost Recap-The Constant
February 29th, 2008

One reason I always keep myself spoiler free for Lost is because it never fails to dissapoint. It is a masterpiece of storytelling the likes of which has maybe been seen on television once before with Babylon 5. This week’s episode, The Constant was the Desmond episode we have been waiting for. It rocked!
I always knew that Desmond and Penny were the key to the entire thing. Last night we saw the heart of Lost. My thoughts after the jump.
Sick Bay door-Obviously Ben’s “man” opened the door. I’m still thinking it’s Michael, but who knows.
Black Rock book-Charles Widmore buys the Block Rock diary. Obviously he used this to find the island and send the freighter. The book was owned by “Tover Hanso” if I heard correctly. The Hanso’s build Dharma and later the book is sold apparently.
Daniel Faraday-His memory loss now makes some sense. Suppose he also travels through time now as well. It would explain his condition. He protected his chest from constant radiation, but not his head. And of course, Desmond would be his constant.
The sickness- Finally we know. The sickness is obviously when people get unstuck in time and then bleed through the nose. The shot that the doc gave Mankowski was obviously the same stuff in the Swan.
The dead in the future-Could Charlie in the future have been real, but unstuck in time? For that matter, could the future Losties be experiencing this? That may be what drives Jack to drink and find the island again.
And finally Penny and Desmond connect in a weepy happy moment.
Those are just a few thoughts. Any thoughts or theories you guys want to share?

Surely bleeding through the nose on cult TV programmes simply means they’ve been eating Hilary Bris’ “special” sausages?
