American Idol Final – David Vs. David
May 14th, 2008
I know our American Idol coverage has been lacking a little as of late, but in all fairness once Kristy Lee Cook was voted off my interest was cut to a fraction. Fortunately Syesha Mercado made the ranks into the final three and on looks alone she should be the winner, but there is some singing involved and Syesha was the one voted off of American Idol tonight.
Who does that leave? Well, if you’ve been watching the show it’s obvious, but for the rest of you, we can look forward to the two David’s going head to head next week on to decide who becomes the winner and American Idol of Fox’s season 7 competition.
David Cook and David Archuleta, two guys if you can believe that, are in the final two for this years competition and actually both deserve to be there. I personally feel like Archuleta is a little bit of a”canned” star but nevertheless he does have talent. I have to say that this vote is proof that there are a lot more girls dialing those AI numbers than the guys or Syesha would have had it, hands down.
I think many fans, and possibly David Cook himself, were hoping he would get voted off before the end so he could start his career without having the next year as the American Idol holding him back. Maybe that was Jason Castro’s plan all along. Jason is probably living his chemically-induced dream chasing Jack Johnson and Ziggy Marley up the charts right now.
So, next week we’ll see the battle of the David’s go down, and for the final vote of all votes for American Idol, the Therapy is putting our money on Cook. Not that Archuleta isn’t capable of winning, but I feel he’s got a long road ahead of him and he’s going to do well no matter what. This is David Cook’s big break, he can handle it and he’s worked hard and deserves it. Oh, and don’t forget to scroll down for our gratuitous picture of Kristy Lee Cook, just because we can.

I would have to agree,it would have made next week worth watching if kristy and syesha were the two left for next week.david a doesn’t have the experience or stage presence and i would sure hate to think my grandaughters would not have someone better than david c to look to as an idol.this contest becomes a popularity contest after the judges have done their job and given us 24 very competent performers.the biggest fault after that is the voting process that allows any bored person to spend 2 hrs.hitting redial.hardly party to the democratic process.

Eh.. I’m for David Cook hands down.
Not ONLY is he versatile, he has edge, a spark, AND a personality. Things that David A lacks.
Every single time I watch American Idol, I can’t help but to roll my eyes as his speeches. They seem like beauty pageant answers, all rehearsed and no meaning to them. You know.. the same “OH gosh! THANK YOU! I can’t believe I made it this far.” he’s all about singing, no personality. People tell me it’s because he’s a kid but he’s the same age I am, and I’m full with personality and voices my opinion, and when I say that, they reply quickly with, “He’s in front of the nation. he’s just shy. you would be too”. Erm… no. I would be shy if it was my first time on stage, but the Idol Stage was not his first. Apparently, he was on stage at, I don’t know.. as a kid he was on it? So should he be shy? No. He should be used to it.
David Cook? He earns it. He has that spark. he appreciates it and he’s always bringing something new. He’s not doing the same ballad week after week (that means you, David A.), he’s unpredictable but predictable in the same sense, but he’s still shocking and amazing.
My vote? David Cook.
