Lamp Made From Old-School Nintendo Zapper
May 5th, 2008

I was never much of a Duck Hunt fan. That damn dog just laughed at me whenever I missed a shot. But anything Nintendo that is also a lamp is all good in my book. Here’s a qoute from the Nintendo Goddess who made it:
“A regular cartridge was too small a base, so I measured one and made a 1.5 scale replica out of cardboard, and screwed the gun to it. I weighted it with stones, and then tackled the shade.
I picked up a $2 shade at the re-store, a pack of fun foam, and voila! After hours and hours of cutting pixellated shapes, I was done! A little dab of glue to secure the shade, and… ta dah!”
Girls devoting their time and energy to all things Nintendo please me… She’s welcome here at PopTherapy anytime. Maybe we can make a Mega-man lamp together, then hump to an NES game theme.
It’s a dream of mine.

Hmm, thanks, but all the ‘humping to NES themes’ is reserved for my gamer geek boyfriend… the man who named me Fluffypants in the first place.

I’m not gonna ask. Thanks for stopping by.

Haha, oh man, I just realized that made no sense. On most of the other blogs I’ve been featured on, they’re referring to me as ‘fluffypants’, since that’s my username at Craftster, where I originally posted this….. some people are getting quite a kick out of it. I just realized that nowhere in your post did you mention the name ‘fluffypants’… just ‘Nintendo goddess’, which I’m growing quite fond of.

I know. I got it. Keep up the cool work and may your pants always have fluff.
Until another gaming goddess comes along with something cooler, you are PopTherapy’s official Nintendo Goddess. There, it’s official…

Of course… the Goddess appreciates the recognition.
I think next up is a Duck Hunt mobile from the shade I originally intended to use….
