Hayden Panettiere Up For Auction
May 22nd, 2008

Hayden Panettiere
You and five friends can join Hayden on a VIP whale-watching trip. She’s sexy and cares about things.

Here are the details from the eBay auction:

You and up to 5 guests will join Hayden Panettiere at a Save the Whales Again! fundraising dinner hosted at the famous Hollywood restaurant Beso, owned by Eva Longoria.

The following week you’ll board Condor Cruises’ Condor Express with 5 of your friends for lunch and a whale watching tour off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, through the Channel Islands, to witness some of the most spectacular whale feeding grounds and have the chance to see the ever-elusive Blue Whale.

The total package also includes hobnobbing over drinks and dinner at Beso, photo opportunities with Hayden, $1000 American Express® gift card and a private whale watching tour with Hayden and Jeff Pantukhoff, world-renowned whale researcher, marine life filmmaker and founder of The Whaleman Foundation.

Currently it has 39 bids and is at $4,180.00. That’s an awful lot of money to throw away in hopes that she puts out, but I’m ok with it.

Simon Cowell Does A Good Deed
March 19th, 2008

Simon Cowell Does A Good Deed
Turns out Simon Cowell isn’t such a grinch after all. He’s actually capable of being a very nice guy. He recently donated the sum of $162,000 to the family of a cancer-stricken three-year-old so they could pay off their mortgage.

“They had some financial problems which were relatively easy for me to sort out,” says Cowell about the family of Madelaine Stoen. Madelaine’s parents, Amy and Randy, drive their daughter 100 miles each day from their home in Minnesota for cancer treatments.

When Cowell heard about the situation, he wanted to help as part of Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Big Give’ TV show.

“I didn’t know what to do in this situation other than to do something which I hope will help your situation,” Cowell told Randy and Amy on the show. “I know you are having problems with your mortgage. As of this afternoon, your mortgage has been paid off.”

He told Oprah on the show that he didn’t know that doing a good deed could feel so good.

More stars need to give back like this. Let’s just hope he doesn’t start talking all sweet to the American Idol contestants and giving out hugs instead of insults.

Shakira Sells Her Bra For Charity
February 13th, 2008

Shakira
Shakira is another celebrity selling a bunch of her personal items on eBay including her bra. All the proceeds are going to a Colombian-based charity that helps kids escape poverty, while the sale of the bra helps her boobs escape imprisonment. Cuz you know she’s the kind of gal that likes to let loose and shake what she’s got.

The megastar already has sold off her custom-made Roberto Cavalli bra, the Carolina Herrera dress she donned at the Grammys, her entire wardrobe from the sold-out “Oral Fixation” world tour, outfits she posed in for her album covers and tickets to get up close and personal over dinner in Toronto.

Personally, I have no use for her bra, despite what you may have heard about my private life, but if I were bidding on anything it would be a chance to have a private audience with her where she could shake her stuff at me.

Then I would call her Charo and make her say “Coochi Coochi”. It would all end in a restraining order, because I stood outside of her house holding a boombox over my head, but hey it was fun.

Jennifer Love Hewitt: Christmas Eve At The Los Angeles Mission
December 26th, 2007

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt is beautiful sure. But you know, she is also proving that she is a Hollywood angel in a den of vipers. How often do you see pics of Jennifer with Coke in her nose, or treating rehab like a bed and breakfast? Instead you see her spending Christmas eve at a Los Angeles Mission helping to make the holiday just a bit better for unfortunate people. She walks the walk and uses her celebrity status for good. Now THAT is sexy.

“There are so many hurting people on the streets of our city, but when I’m here I get to see the smiles of the children and the great food for everyone. I think they are getting real help from the staff and volunteers. I come to give something back, but invariably I get more blessing than I give,” she said.

I’m proud to say that if we could top our tree with any celebrity Angel this year, it would be you Jennifer. Keep making the world a better place.

Jessica Alba Cares…But Is It Art?
November 20th, 2007

Jessica Alba art

It’s easy to dismiss Jessica Alba as just another bubble headed Hollywood starlet. But perhaps she is not. Maybe, just maybe she has some redeeming qualities besides her obvious hotness.

For one thing, she is apparently an animal lover. And she loves them enough to show her support for her four-legged friends along with many other celebrities. Stars like Drew Barrymore, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Coolidge and Carmen Electra have all created one-of-kind, signed artwork to be auctioned off for animal advocacy group Rescue Train. Some other high profile names include Famke Janssen, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, David Arquette, Jason Biggs, Jim Belushi, Paula Abdul, Mimi Rogers, Lou Diamond Phillips, Patrika Darbo, Wolfgang Petersen, Eric Roberts, David Faustino, and Jane Lynch.

And of course Jessica Alba. Jessica, I’m sorry I doubted your skinny hollywood ass. Maybe there really is more to you then just being my not so bright fantasy girl in a tight Fantastic Four Costume….Maybe….But I gotta tell ya, that art is kinda like 1st grade, hang on the fridge art that you take down as soon as the kid’s not looking….So maybe I was right about you after all my sweet beautiful airhead.

Smartness aside, the important thing is that you care. You really care about the animals. And that says alot. That’s why I am naming you PopTherapy Actress of the week. Keep up the good work. And the art.

Ozzy and Sharon do some house cleaning
October 9th, 2007

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne will auction off items on November 30So what are an aging rocker and his wife to do after accumulating every kind of over-priced junk object known to man? You sell it so you can start the cycle all over again.

They will be selling art, furniture and all kinds of collectibles from their homes in Malibu, Beverly Hills and England. The auction, which is set for Nov. 30th will feature a lot of the same tacky decorative items that were featured in their MTV show. Items like Jack’s black leather bedroom furniture(Which I am sure never saw any action) and the well known cast-iron crucifix that was in Ozzy’s den.

You have to give Sharon credit where credit is due. Some of the proceeds will benefit the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation. She knows how to do an over-priced Yard Sale with class.

So, is that the only reason for this mass liquidation? Are they in financial trouble? Apparently, now that the kids are grown and out of the house, they suddenly noticed all of their crap. I’m also guessing that Ozzy’s incoherent bouts of zombie consciousness can’t help any. I can easily picture him mumbling nonsense while bumping into all of their finer possessions.

But somehow he still gets on stage. In fact, the Oz will perform a benefit concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 30, the first night of the auction.

If you are in the area, why not buy something for a worthy cause?

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith give $1 Million to Jada’s Old School
December 13th, 2006

Jada Pinkett Smith donated $1 million to her high school alma mater. Pinkett Smith attended the Baltimore School for the Arts with classmate Tupac Shakur. She asked that its new theater be dedicated to Shakur, who was shot to death in 1996.

Donald Hicken, head of the school’s theater department said “It means a lot when you’re a teacher and your most famous alumnus comes back to give a donation.” Hicken, Jada’s former music teacher and head of the department since its founding in 1980 continued, “It really says a lot to the community that the school matters in people’s lives.”

The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, which had previously given $112,500 to the school, is based in Baltimore. The donation will be used for expansion and renovation of the existing structure. The school’s new theater will be named for Pinkett Smith.

Pinkett Smith, 35, was last seen on screen in 2004’s “Collateral”. She is married to Will Smith, who stars in “The Pursuit of Happyness” with the couple’s 8-year-old son, Jaden.

The school will increase its enrollment from 316 to 375 students once a $30 million expansion program is finished in late 2007.

The actress was moved by the school’s advances since she graduated, said Karen Banfield Evans, executive director of the Smith Family Foundation, and Pinkett Smith’s aunt.

The theater will be named for Shakur because of the friendship that Pinkett Smith and Shakur developed at the school. The rapper was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.

The actress has appeared along side her husband Will in “Ali” and she was the voice of the hippo Gloria in the animated film “Madagascar.”

the pursuit of happyness movie poster“The Pursuit of Happyness,” starring Will Smith, opens in theaters Friday December 18th 2006.

Your Therapy:

Yo, this is great deed and it’s great to see people giving back to the community. It doesn’t hurt to promote your own project at the same time. A million dollars of publicity might help Will’s new joint blow up proper.

I don’t know why they won’t name the theater for my brother Tupac but the “Pinkett Smith Theatre” sounds good too.
