Website to Offer Free South Park
March 26th, 2008

Free South Park WebsiteNo need for BitTorrent, South Park fans will soon be able to watch all the free, legal episodes they want on the newly relaunched website, southparkstudios.com. The website will feature free, streaming, full-length episodes and clips from the entire 12 seasons of the series.

Due to some contractual issues, new episodes will be available soon after they premiere and remain available for seven days. The new episodes will then return to the site permanently 30 days after they premiere. The website will also feature other video and behind-the-scenes information.

Clips of South Park have been on YouTube or BitTorrent for years. The new website just makes it easier for people to see and share South Park. According to Anne Garefino, General Manager of South Park Digital Studios:

“One goal in moving forward is to make every episode of ‘South Park’ available world-wide. Currently, full episodes are not available in the UK, Australia and a few other foreign territories but we’re not far off from making that happen. We have some contractual issues to sift through but we’re getting there.”

When asked about the launch of the new site, Stone and Parker said, “We got really sick of having to download our own show illegally all the time so we gave ourselves a legal alternative.”

A special thanks to Matt and Trey.

South Park’s Imaginationland Gives Us Nightmares
March 6th, 2008

South Park, is well, South Park. Love it or hate it you can’t help but admire how it has become a part of our pop culture. The good folks at Comedy Central keep milking this cow for all it is worth and now have plans for a new DVD release called South Park’s Imaginationland on March 11.

Now I think it is better to just let the good Comedy Central folk outline the plot:

In this uncensored, never-before-seen director’s cut, the doors of the world’s imagination are thrown wide open and the boys of South Park are transported to a magical realm in their greatest odyssey ever. Stan, Kyle, and Butters find themselves in Imaginationland just as terrorists launch an attack that unleashes all of mankind’s most evil characters imaginable. With the world’s imaginations spinning out of control, the government prepares to nuke Imaginationland to put an end to the chaos. Racing against time to prevent nuclear annihilation, the citizens of Imaginationland realize their only hope of salvation lies with the unlikeliest of heroes: Butters. Ignoring the impending apocalypse, Cartman goes all the way to the Supreme Court to get justice for his case of dry balls.

There - now go make yourself useful and blow a fart or something.
