Sarah Connor Chronicles Returns In August
June 10th, 2008

Summer Glau
Fox announced that they will be re-airing first season episodes of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” in August:

I’m still hoping it will get better as it suffers from the usual Sci-Fi fate. Great premise, half-assed execution. They need a more creative use of budget and an actual long term story arc.

Beginning August 10th you can catch up on the first season.

Is This Terminator Ad A Rip-Off? NSFW
May 5th, 2008

Hmmm...Interesting
I still can’t decide if I like the new Terminator series. I’m giving it a chance to find it’s legs. But did the Terminator people rip off the work of an artist without giving them credit? That appears to be the case: some blogs are reporting that the Fox channel’s poster was allegedly copied straight from a montage created by someone else before the series was even announced. Surely they wouldn’t do that? Compare the full NSFW images after the jump.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
January 14th, 2008

Sarah & John Connor
The first part of the Terminator premiere aired last night on Fox, with the second part airing tonight. I have to say, I was pleasently surprised.

It would be very easy to serve us up some regurgitated Hollywood crapulence, and they could have easily chosen to go the route of “terminator of the week” by having a new terminator appear week after week to give chase. But they clearly have set their sights much higher.

First, Summer Glau as the good terminator is not only HOT, but perfect for the role and the three main characters all mesh well.

I was particularly impressed with some interesting plot points, like the resistance from the future procuring a safe deposit box in order to have some nice hardware AND a time-travel device ready for their use.

Another nice touch was that the writers could have either set the characters in 1999 or 2007 and left it at that, but they didn’t. Instead they used both years in a fantastic way that should provide some very nice storytelling aspects down the road. By traveling from 1999 to 2007, the FBI and anyone else after them now knows they have suddenly reappeared after having vanished for 8 years. And of course certain things have happened during that time that the three main characters are not aware of.

This show should be a very good ride. Hopefully they continue the good quality and it doesn’t degenerate.

What are your first impressions of the new Terminator TV show?
