March 18th, 2008

Man to Auction Life on eBay44-year-old Ian Usher is auctioning his life in a “package” deal, complete with a house in Perth valued at around A$420,000.

It seems poor Ian is looking for a fresh start after his wife of 12 years has left him. “It’s time to move. A completely fresh start. I want to see where life takes me,” Ian Usher, 44, told Australian television on Tuesday from Perth in Western Australia state.

I have a car, a motorbike, a jet ski, spa, and much more. I live a great lifestyle; I go skydiving, snowboarding, diving, jet skiing, kite boarding. I have some great friends. I have a good job working with some wonderful people.

The auction will go live on eBay on June 22nd. You can follow his story at alife4sale.com, which will include a link to the eBay action once it begins. Usher hopes to collect at least 500,000 Australian dollars to fund the next phase of his life.

Important Pop Culture Collection Goes to Auction
March 3rd, 2008

Houdini Straight JacketA one-of-a-kind collection of pop culture memorabilia is about to hit the auction block in Las Vegas. The collection includes important items from movies, music, television, and other significant historical items. The event is billed as the best pop culture collection ever assembled.

The collection of 850 lots was pieced together over the past 25 years by South Florida property developer Anthony Pugliese. The eclectic collection includes items ranging from Liberace’s Mink coat to Houdini’s straight jacket [pictured], including the Gun used by Jack Ruby to kill Lee Harvey Oswald. You can view some of the collection here.

The collection is estimated to fetch more than $5 million when it goes to auction at The Palms Resort and Casino on March 15 and 16.

Don’t miss your chance to own an important piece of Pop Culture history. I personally have my eye on “Super” Dave Osborne’s jumpsuit.
