Paris Hilton to guest star on “My Name Is Earl”
March 7th, 2008

Paris Hilton to guest star on “My Name Is Earl”
The air headed heiress will be appearing as herself in a dream sequence on the show’s 1-hour episode. Oh yeah. I’ve had that happen myself. And I don’t pay her scale or anthing. On a side note, she likes the rough stuff in between cleaning my house.

The deal is that Earl has been knocked unconscious and things from his life and imagination bleed into his fevered mind. This will be the April 3 show that is the first new one following the writers strike settlement.

NBC Snuffs Quarterlife in Quarter of a Second
February 28th, 2008

quarterlife-bombs.jpg

Fan of the new NBC series Quarterlife? Too bad - the network has already canned it after its Tuesday night debut. Word today is it may get moved to the cable network Bravo. No new date for this possible move has been confirmed though.

Why, do you ask, did it get yanked after only one episode? Well, according to Reuters, it drew “the network’s lowest ratings and smallest audience for that time slot in at least 20 years.” OUCH!! It ranked pathetically low in its target demographic viewership also. Oh well.

Quarterlife, which is popular on MySpace, didn’t quite make the translation to the slightly larger screen.

Heroes Action Figures
January 16th, 2008

Heroes Action Figures
If you’re looking for a way to get your Heroes fix while the writer’s strike continues, check out these upcoming Action Figures based on the show.

Sylar looks like a Vulcan(Granted, he has a sort of neanderthal quality in real life), Claire looks like a transsexual or aged Truck Stop waitress, and Hiro appears to be an Asian Harry Potter. Yeah, they could be a bit more accurately detailed, but what do you want from a product rushed to market for geek consumption?

The good news is that these are all prototypes, so they may get better.

What better way to play out the show the way YOU want it. Once these hit the market, you’ll have the Claire figure humping Sylar in no time, while Hiro watches and then suddenly takes Peter in his arms. Cuz I know how you are.

David Hasselhoff Reprises His Role In Knight Rider
November 20th, 2007

Knight Rider

Just when you thought the world was through with David Hasselhoff, his name pops up again, bringing back memories of talking cars and bad acting all topped with a healthy dose of cheese. He is in talks to appear on NBC’s “Knight Rider,” reprising his role as Michael Knight from the original series.

As if that isn’t enough, throw in a few soap stars. Yeah, that’s sure to breed good TV. “The Young & the Restless” co-star Deanna Russo has landed the female lead in the movie/pilot opposite fellow soap star Justin Bruening.

“Rider,” is a sequel to the 1980s series that centers on Mike Tracer (Bruening), Michael Knight’s son who never knew his dad. Again, just brilliant thought provoking TV. With a premise like that how can you go wrong? Oh wait, it’s already wrong on many levels.

Burned by his love for childhood best friend and one-time girlfriend Sarah Kamen (Russo), Mike is wasting away in Las Vegas when Sarah reappears and is willing to pay off Mike’s gambling debt in exchange for help.

Sarah is the brilliant estranged daughter of KITT inventor Charles Kamen, who works as an assistant professor in the engineering department at Stanford. When she receives word from talking-car KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) that her father is missing, she and KITT set out to find and recruit Mike.

All I can say is, they are gonna have to work hard to make this even watchable. Let’s hope they at least updated KITT.

Sorry KITT. Sounds like RUST See TV.

“Heroes” Creator Apologizes For Season 2
November 8th, 2007

Heroes

The ratings for Heroes have been in decline since the beginning of season 2, after a stellar outing with the first season. Many fans are unhappy with the slow pacing, and more. Tim Kring, the serie’s creator feels your pain with some refreshing candor.

He critiqued his own show and wants to assure fans that all of the problems will be corrected.

About the slow pace- Kring admits he made a mistake using the same format of storytelling from season one. The fans want adrenaline. It is no time to slowly build up the story with suspense. Everyone already has their powers after all.

The threat should have been established in the first episode- He admits that Peter’s vision of Armageddon should have appeared in the season premiere rather then episode 7.

The rookies- The new South American heroes had an awkward introduction and the whole thing has not meshed with the overall story.

HIRO IN JAPAN- Again Kring’s bad. He realises that Hiro should not have stayed in the past for so long.

The Love Story-Yes, Claire and the flying dork boy in love does not work. It’s just silly.

It’s nice to see a Hollywood bigshot admit mistakes and communicate with the fans. He will focus on fixing the series and making it rock once again.
