Both Coreys Back For “Lost Boys” Sequel
March 24th, 2008

Corey Feldman Lost Boys: The TribeNever fear, both Coreys will be returning for more vampire-butt-kicking action in the Lost Boys: The Tribe.

There was concern that Corey Haim would not be in the sequel to the successful 1987 original. MTV movies blog confirms that Corey Haim would return to the movie and reprise his role as Sam Emerson according to an interview with Corey Feldman.

“It’s obviously something that we’ve been trying to keep under wraps because there’s been so much speculation,” he revealed, smiling. “There’s been so much back and forth. But, that said, I am proud to say he is finally a part of the film.”

I loved the original Lost Boys, but I’m not so sure about the sequel. Kiefer Sutherland made the first one. The release date for the straight-to-dvd movie is July 2008.

The Last Starfighter Sequel?
March 8th, 2008

The Last Starfighter Sequel? There are some rumors that a sequel to the 1984 science fiction classic, The Last Starfighter is in the works. Some reports saying that Lance Guest has verbally agreed to reprise his role as Alex Rogan.

Starfighter was one of my favorite movies as a kid and it would be fun to see if they can pull it off. The tagline from the original movie:

Alex Rogan is a small town teenager with big time dreams. Dreams of college… of success… of marrying his girlfriend, Maggie. He’s just like everybody else, except Alex has a very special talent… that no one on Earth can appreciate. But, tonight, a mysterious stranger has called on Alex. He’s come from a galaxy that’s under attack from an alien force. And Alex’s unique ability is their last hope.

Reading that now makes me chuckle but it sure was cool when I was 12. FilmBuffOnline is saying that these rumors are a bit premature. Either way, I’m afraid the studios will probably need to hit the death blossom to get this one to production.
