I Knew It: Mario Is Real, Works For A Living
April 29th, 2008

Mario Is Real
I’ve known all along that he’s a real dude. Going to work 9 to 5, exterminating Koopas and Goombas and going on plumbing jobs with his bro Luigi, then heading home to bang the princess and have a TV dinner while watching Mythbusters. Business could probably be better though, so he is always on the hunt for coins. But man, what a life.

You the man Mario. You and your sweet un-Nintendo like van.

Goomba Plush Has Attitude
Goombas are awesome…To stomp on. This Goomba makes a satisfying noise after you hit him. It will react to being hit on the head by emitting the customary goomba-bop-death noise. He’s 10″ and battery powered.

Also available are a ? Block (makes a coin sound) and a Star (plays the star noise).

Wii Super Mario Casemod Is Awesome
March 10th, 2008

Super Mario Casemod
This hand-painted Super Mario themed Wii features a scene from the classic platformer. It even has a 3-dimensional Mario busting out of the side. It was done using a large amount of modeling clay and Bondo.

There’s a tutorial over on Instructables, showing you how to do the same thing. The creator says he is probably putting this one up for auction in the next week to raise some cash, so watch ebay if you are too lazy to make your own.

Fetish Birdo Costume Freaks Us Out
March 3rd, 2008

Fetish Birdo Costume
Some things you just shake your head at. Others make you want to check out of civilization entirely and forget what you’ve just seen. This is the latter.

You might remember Birdo from Super Mario Brothers 2. I present the Birdo fetish costume. All the finer perves from Mario land own one for when they bang each other at parties.

Another innocent Mario childhood memory twisted and perverted. And I am left with the aftermath of this image in my head.

Awesome Nintendo Super Mario Cake
February 23rd, 2008

Mario cake
Some lucky Nintendo fan had this cake made for his 30th birthday. It’s got a neat Mario landscape on it, Piranha plants, Koopa shells, a 1-up mushroom and of course Mario himself. The only better then playing Super Mario is eating this cake.

Geek cake…yum.

Pac-Man & Super Mario Cupcakes…Damn I’m Hungry
January 29th, 2008

Pac-Man cupcakes
Mario cupcakes
These cupcake photos have been zinging across the web and making geeks like me hungry. These are true retro arcade works of art. They make me want to play vintage games while munching away. They were created by hello naomi and arranged to look just like the game screen.

Clearly I need me a new Betty Crocker in the kitchen. I would ask my wife to make these, but I don’t fancy a punch to my face.

Super Mario Power Up! Energy Drink
December 13th, 2007

Super Mario Power Up! Energy Drink

I always wondered how Mario had the energy to jump around all day inside my console and kick Bowser’s butt, while I lazily pushed buttons. Now I know.

He’s got his own energy drink. It must pack one hell of a mushroom power-up too, because it’s clearly labeled “Product not intended for children”. Rumor is that those under 18 turn into Koopas with one sip.

If you need a boost while trying to save the Princess, you can power-up for $2.95 a can.
