True story. I think. Two brothers were drilling in the Naica lead and silver mine below the Chihuahua Desert in Mexico when they found a crystal cave 1,000 feet below the surface. Apparently people are crawling all up in there. Superman is gonna be pissed when he discovers that they’ve trashed his summer home.

Kryptonite is hard to find. Just ask Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luther. (I’m talking the Gene Hackman version. Not that putz on that teeny-bopper show on the CW) I mean, we’re talking chunks of Superman’s home planet here. This stuff doesn’t exactly grow on trees. Which explains why four colored rocks will cost you $274.99.

Rumor is that an old favorite may be back for the next installment of the Man of Steel’s adventures. None other then General Zod himself, played by Terrrance Stamp. You remember, the evil leader of the trio that escaped their Phantom zone imprisonment in the second Donner movie, from way back.

According to Aintitcoolnews, their source(Admittedly, an untested one) saw director Ryan Singer putting pressure on Stamp to reprise his role as the villain. Obviously, it could be total fabrication, but it makes sense. It would help bridge the 70’s Donner/Reeve movies with the modern ones. And the character could have somehow survived at the end of Superman II.

True or not, this is enough to make any hardcore Superman fan wet his comic-con tights. Personally, I still think nothing compares to the Christopher Reeve Superman movies and I found Superman Returns to be 50% cool and 50% wtf . And even I am excited by this potential bit of casting.

If true, will we see the other 2 villains from Superman II or will Stamp fly solo? Stay Tuned on this one. I have a feeling there may be more cool developments ahead.
